Contrary to binding a reference, this-overiddes for inline
functions gets messy and fragile. There's also a minor
performance overhead that can be avoided. No separation of
concerns, eiter, as the object is held by the closure.
Also:
* Remove left-over instances of @method.
* Remove redundant '0' argument to setTimeout.
* Use null instead of $ for apply() on static methods like $.when.
* Use .empty().append() instead of .html(). Does the same but
without additional overhead and without confusion association
with "html" which isn't used (it doesn't serialise and re-parse
or clone, it just appends when given one or more nodes).

Uses the generic sequence detection now available in core instead
of a custom hack that had to been manually bound and unbound to
every surface and surface widget.
As the sequence detection looks at just-typed characters the behaviour
has reverted to showing a auto-hide message. This resolves an issue
with the previous system whereby typing in the same paragraph as existing
wikitext patterns triggered the warning.

setMode() is called multiple times, but it didn't
check whether the mode being set was already set.
Because it's a setter, make it idempotent.
This fixes the problem where the first input will
be focused first, then blurred later, but it
introduces a new problem because the label for
the 'mode' ActionWidget is set from setMode().
To solve that, factor the setting of this label
out into its own function and call it on setup.

When show/hide options is clicked, the inputs in the main pane
move as the outline transitions in or out. This causes any dropdowns
below these inputs to become mispositioned: they don't move
because they're in an overlay.
To work around this problem, blur the active input when show/hide
options is clicked, so any dropdown attached to it is closed.
I tried blurring and immediately refocusing the active input to
force the dropdown to reposition itself, but that looks awkward
because of the transition (we'd have to wait for the transition
to complete before repositioning it, and during the transition
it'll stay open in the wrong place).

On initialization, the image model has an initial scalable that has
the given currentDimensions from Parsoid; these are usually correct.
However, in cases where the wiki settings do not fit the user settings
and the images appear smaller or bigger in practice than the values
of the wiki-defaults, the initial hash will store the wrong values.
We will only know what the real values for the comparison will be
after we get them from the API and the calculation; only at that
point we can update the image model initial hash.
This is important so that later the dialog can properly understand
whether to enable the "apply" button if a user changed an image
to custom size and then back to default.

Wikia has done some work on the template user experience, including
automatically showing all available parameters without the use of
TemplateData. In order to make our changes, we had to make some changes
to VE-MW.
ve.dm.MWTransclusionModel.js
* this.specCache is created so subclasses can reference it.
* Promise handlers in the fetch() method have been broken out as class
methods so they can be overridden in subclasses.
ve.ui.MWTemplateDialog.js
* addPromptedParameters() has been moved to the
initializeNewTemplateParameters() class method so subclasses can
overwrite. In Wikia's implementation, we have a method of getting
all parameters and a dialog that shows all of the parameters, so the
request to addPromptedParameters is overwritten.
* Added a done() handler to the transclusionModel promise for Wikia
extensibility.

There are several incorrect usages of jquery .append() method that

It's unnecessary, big and ugly, way too close to an actually useful button, and
adds oodles of complexity to the mire that is VPT without significant user benefit
whilst taking up an unjustifiably huge amount of the already-over-burdened space.
This means that the minimum browser width for English on default Vector to show
the toolbar correctly is now 945px, down from 1029px.
Bonuses: fix MWCancelConfirmDialog's cancel button to be destructive (it is) and
remove a now-recently-fixed comment asking for the save button to be styled using
a generic class (provided by the constructive flag).

"Go back" should only be shown if there's something to go back to.
So it should be visible if you came from "Change image", but not
if you came from "Insert media".
If the "Go back" button is hidden, the footer is empty, so hide it
completely in that case. Hiding the footer is tricky due to how
dialogs position things, so I hacked around OO.ui.Dialog's lack
of an API for toggling the visibility of the footer.

Once more with feeling; default alignment when switching between
inline to block and vise versa. This time, the problem was mainly
that the checkbox for position cannot be updated without triggering
its update event. It was triggered, however, before setting up the
positioning, which caused the model to run positioning twice and
get things wrong.
Another smaller fix in this commit was done to make sure that
the image model remembers the previous alignment, so when image
type changes from inline to block and vise versa, and the alignment
was default, it can recalculate default value for the new node.

Make default alignment a computed value, and make sure the GUI listens
to 'choose' instead of 'select' events for SelectWidgets so to prevent
recursive calls and make sure the GUI is updated properly.

visually have an indication that the new image will have a different
alignment. The user can then change the value manually.

Creating an MWImageModel that handles all image edit operations.
If the new attributes mean a change of image types from inline

Due to a lack of clarity in the wikitext documentation the border
checkbox wasn't set up right. This is the proper behavior: border is
allowed for all unframed images (frameless and basic) while the
framed images (frame and thumb) have it anyways. Wikitext
documentation was also clarified for prosperity.

There are two ways dialogs determine if they are inserting or updating.
1. They evaluate whether the dialog is inserting or not and set a boolean
flag, used later to steer the saving code
2. They evaluate whether the dialog is inserting or not and, if not,
store the node to be updated in a property, used later to steer the
saving code
In the reference list dialog, setup used strategy 1, and teardown used
strategy 2. We've now normalized to use strategy 2 in both methods, which
fixes this bug.

This works the first time the dialog is opened, but if the user types
a value into the search widget that yields 0 results, then closes
and reopens the dialog, that value will persist and the search widget

When an image is smaller than the default size, the placeholder 'default'
value will be the image's actual size. This means that if a user selects
default thumb size for the image, it won't be changed unless the original

width only, and doesn't act as a bounding box on size change.

While the documentation is unclear, it seems that the 'thumbsize' in
$wgDefaultUserOptions is setting up width limit rather than a general
bounding box.

There are several conditions to defaultSize behavior of thumbnails and
frameless images and other images when it comes to default size. In the
same principle is 'border' which is not quite a type despite the fact
it 'behaves' as such in wikitext (and has a unique identifier that comes
instead of the other types.
This commit aims to organize this behavior for the user in an
understandable manner.
* Add 'basic' image type for images that have no specified type ('none')
* Handle the difference in 'default' size behavior between basic images
and thumbnails/frameless. The thumb/frameless images have the default
wiki size. Other images' default size is their original dimensions.
* Force wiki-configured default size for thumbnails and frameless images
in the DM. This is done because at the moment Parsoid's output is of
Wikipedia's default size rather than the local wiki's. The size is
adapted if needed, directly in the DM.
* Added 'border' as a pseudo-type checkbox flag that sets css class
'mw-image-border' is for parsoid rendering on save.
* Add 'make full size' to the size widget select and treat it as a faux
default button for basic and frame images.

This is a bit of a workaround for scalable image nodes to update the
current size rather than only the original one. This is done so the
MediaSizeWidget in the media edit dialog is fed the current dimensions
of the image even without the image being saved.
Ideally, the node's 'currentDimensions' property should be constantly
updated to current dimensions. This workaround fixes the given bug, in
which all images show the original wikitext/default size even after
being resized.

Adding the ability to edit image size in the media edit dialog.
The size is now a separate widget.
The following changes were made:
* The dialog was changed to a booklet with 'general settings' and
'advanced settings', in preparation for other edit features.
* The original image maximum size is fetched from the API and cached.
* Maximum size is limited to the image's original maximum size.
* Aspect ratio is kept when changing height or width, using original
image size to preserve a sane ratio through the MediaSizeWidget.
* If an error is found in the size, the image will retain its previously
set dimensions.

This creates a new panel in the meta dialog, "Page settings", where page-
level settings will be, err, set. For now, this exposes just the
behavioural switches for the presence/absence of the Table Of Contents –
__NOTOC__ and __FORCETOC__.
As part of this change, the meta dialog is renamed to "Options" to be
less confusing, and the icon for the meta dialog is changed to the
generic one for dialogs, which was previously unused. The page settings
pane is provided first in this list, given that the categories pane
(amongst others) is now directly accessible through the toolbar menu.

This commit switches from using hard-coded media source urls to utilizing
MediaWiki's API call for meta=filerepoinfo. The API call is done only if
needed when the media insertion dialog is loading, and is done only once
per session.

It used to be that when you closed a dialog, the thing that the dialog
inspected or inserted would be selected. For insertions, the selection
will now be collapsed immediately after the inserted node.
For modifications, the original behavior was kept, as it makes sense to
keep selecting the node that the user had to select in order to access
the dialog. For removals (only possible in the transclusion dialog),
the selection ends up as a collapsed selection at the location where
the removed node used to be; this was already behaving correctly,
as we get this behavior for free with offset translation.

Use OOJS-UI's newly-extended paged dialogs (in e08eb2a03b) to refactor
how the Transclusion and Meta dialogs work, splitting out the code for
each of the panels into its own file and simplifying extensibility.
The Meta dialog (ve.ui.MWMetaDialog) now has two self-managing panels:
* ve.ui.MWCategoriesPage for categories and the default sort key
* ve.ui.MWLanguagesPage for language links
The Transclusion dialog (ve.ui.MWTransclusionDialog) now has four:
* ve.ui.MWTemplatePage for a template's primary panel
* ve.ui.MWTemplateParameterPage for each parameter of a template
* ve.ui.MWTemplatePlaceholderPage for a placeholder to insert a template
* ve.ui.MWTransclusionContentPage for non-template transclusion
Additionally, the Transclusion dialog has been slightly cleaned up:
* Replace add/remove events with replace events in transclusion model
* Actually return and resolve a promise (as documented)

In order to do this we have to separate out the removal
operation from NDFR, so it becomes newFromDocumentInsertion
(again, although actually, for the first time). As NFDI is
an insertion we can just run fixUpInsertion on the data
part of it.
In order for the removal operation to be a proper removal
we have to allow metadata removal (the default is to merge it).

Previously we had a defaultSortKeyChanged value that lied - it was
possible for the value to be changed A -> B -> A by the user mid-
edit. However, the meta dialog assumed that defaultSortKeyChanged
wasn't lying, so blindly changed the meta item to the new value,
causing an unnecessary meta change if the user had done a no-op.
Now the value is renamed to defaultSortKeyTouched, and we actually
detect for content changes, and only change the meta item if a
change is actually needed (be that a removal, a replacement, or an
insertion).

Underline is particularly important as CE will apply underline
formatting automatically when you press Ctrl+U but the
SurfaceObserver will not notice it, leading to inconsistency
between the view and the model.
For sub/superscript I've used the Google Docs key mappings as these
appear to have the fewest conflicts with existing browser shortcuts
and there isn't much consistency between desktop clients anyway
(Word and Open/LibreOffice use completely different shortcuts).
Bonus: reordered command lists to be consistent with UI layout.

A very weird if statement caused pretty much all logic for displaying
the 'save' panel to be skipped if the sanity check had failed. The
result was that all buttons were displayed at the bottom of the
save dialog, even those that don't make sense in that context.

`new mw.Title` throws on invalid input. Converting uses to
mw.Title.newFromText instead and converting try/catch to if/else.
mw.Title in general (regardless of which constructor) has been
improved in core. It will no longer crash on pages where the page
title was a false hit for invalid (e.g. we couldn't load VE on
[[.com]] because the js parser thought it was invalid).
However, though the initialisation works since core has been
fixed, there are still plently of cases where we take real user
input that can genuinely be invalid.
In cases where the code did not catch exceptions and there was
no obvious way to handle it, I left it as is (let's revisit them
in a separate commit). It would be an exception either way, and
I'd rather see "mw.Title: Parser error" than
"TypeError: null does not have method getNamespaceId".

This commit extracts the page and outline handling logic from
ve.ui.PagedDialog (RIP) and moves it into two layouts: ve.ui.PagedLayout
and ve.ui.PagedOutlineLayout, respectively. These layouts are now implemented
inside the dialogs that used to mixin the ve.ui.PagedDialog class. This
brings a much cleaner separation of concerns between Dialogs and Layouts
and allows the use of page handling logic without the accompanying
outline logic.

We already getSlice which returns a ve.dm.DocumentSlice, so using
the word slice in this method is very confusing. What we are actually
doing is creating a ve.dm.Document from a range. Also remove argument
overloading as it's not particularly helpful and would make the new
name a lie.

Replaces newFromNodeReplacement(). newFromNodeReplacement was very
simplistic and didn't support metadata or internal list items, so
if you had comments or references inside of the data you were editing
(reference contents or an image caption), they'd get mangled.
With this, you can do:

In various places in the UI code, certain properties of config objects
were overridden and in some cases the configurations were documented as
private as a strange hack to prevent them from being advertised in the
docs.
I, Trevor, have been convinced of the error of my ways, and gladly
reverse this situation, allowing all configurations to always be
overridden when desired, while still allowing default values.

Simply generating ':3' as the "unique" name for the 4th reference
doesn't work. Even if getUniqueListKey() had been used, that only
checks for conflicts with names that have already been encountered
(i.e. occur in <ref> tags that precede the current one), not for
conflicts with names that first occur further down in the document.
The solution is to generate names at serialization time, when we
have full knowledge of which names are in use. Internally, we use
'literal/<name>' for names that literally appeared in the source,
and 'auto/<number>' for unnamed references. Then at serialization
time, we translate 'auto/<number>' to 'literal/:<number>' if needed
(i.e. if the reference was reused).

The search index was only being built on initialization, rather than at
the time the list was being shown. By moving it to be built on open
the list will always be fresh. Also, just after building the index, we can
enable/disable the select existing button based on the number of
results.

* Tools are named using a path-style category/id/ext system, making them

* Toolbars have ToolGroups, which include or exclude tools by category or
category/id, and order them by promoting and demoting selections of
tools by category or category/id
Future:
* Add a way to place available but not yet placed tools in an "overflow"
group
* Add a mode to ToolGroup to make the tools a multi-column drop-down style
list with labels so tools with less obvious icons are easier to identify
- and probably use this as the overflow group

Some browsers (e.g. Firefox) change the CE range when the dialog
is opened, so after the first surfaceModel change (to modify the
internal item) the surface's selection is modified, and the reference
is inserted in the wrong place.

For configured wikis, show a dialog that welcomes the user to the
amazing and fantabulous world of VisualEditing, which is not only full of
wonderment and joy but also may lead to increased popularity and love.
The dialog only shows up once (uses a cookie).

Not having a description yet is fine, but they should at least
be indexed as blocks so that they are searchable and listed
in the jsduck generated pages. jsduck defaults to @method + name
of prototype property. And it even guesses parameters sometimes.

Now Ctrl+\ (Cmd+\ on Mac) will trigger the 'clear annotations' button
on the current context. Ideally we'd also bond to the 'clear' keyboard
button (ASCII 12) but it does not seem possible to do that yet.

This removes the initial alignment (either left or right) from new
inserted images, letting the wiki decide the default positioning.
Also, it makes sure that VisualEditor positions the image properly
(according to wiki defaults tright/tleft for ltr/rtl) when editing.

Problem:
Adding or moving templates or content resulted in the incorrect item
being selected.
Diagnosis:
Although recently we solved a few issues by making addPart async, it
caused some other issues where callers of addPart were assuming
otherwise
Solution:
Return a promise from addPart which is resolved after the part is
actually added and setup callers to use the promise when needed

Problem:
Parsoid has a property called "i" which we don't use, but they need for
round-tripping purposes. Since we were generating a structure from
Parsoid data and then generating data from the structure without
preserving properties we didn't use, it was getting lost.
Solution:
Abstract creating a template from data vs. creating it from name. Make
only templates have an origin argument in their constructors, so and
set it within a set of static constructors that create a template for
either data or a template name. Store the original data in the former
case, and use it as a base when serializing.

We previously manually loaded CSS into these frames, which is flawed
because it completely bypasses ResourceLoader (so CSSJanus didn't flip
them, necessitating a bunch of hacks for RTL), and doesn't pull in
MediaWiki styles (so templates inside references don't render correctly).
Instead, this commit copies all styles from the main document into each
frame's document, inlining what it can.
Loading all styles in dialogs and inspectors caused some problems,
initially. We didn't namespace our styles for dialogs vs. inspectors
at all; the only reason inspector styles weren't being applied to dialogs
and vice versa was because we controlled which files were being loaded
in which context. This commit namespaces the inspector and dialog styles
where needed so they don't conflict and try to override each other.
Tested in Vector and Monobook, but not in Apex and not in RTL.

Move all MW-specific files into the ve-mw directory, in preparation
for moving them out into a separate repo.
All MW-specific files were moved into a parallel directory structure
in modules/ve-mw . Files with both generic and MW-specific things were
split up. Files in ve/init/mw/ were moved to ve-mw/init/ rather than
ve-mw/init/mw ; they're still named ve.init.mw.* but we should change
that. Some of the test files for core classes had MW-specific test cases,
so those were split up and the test runner was duplicated; we should
refactor our tests to use data providers so we can add cases more easily.
