- fanwikis.org is a collective that hosts and (in part) maintains wikis for various fandoms on multiple languages.
-No, fanwikis.org is currently run by private individuals. We are not a company. We are planning on opening a legal entity in Germany as an "eigetragener Verein" with no profit intent.
-Currently, we can still finance fanwikis.org out of our own pockets relatively easily and are happy to do so, as it's a passion project. Once fanwikis.org grows, this is however no longer possible.
-Once this becomes the case, the ideal situation would be that we're able to fund all wikis on our wikifarm entirely through donations. If this does not work out, we will consider running a small amount of non-intrusive, privacy-friendly ads for logged-out users across our wikis.

-In general, wikis have quite a lot of freedom. We try to interfere as little as possible with the content of wikis. However, we do have a code of conduct that wikis have to follow. You can find them here.
-There are several ways to contribute to our wiki.
-The most obvious way to contribute is to contribute to the wikis themselves. Every wiki has a link to information on how to contribute to them on their main page.
-If you're a programmer, you can contribute to our code projects hosted on git.fanwikis.org. You can find more information on how to contribute here.
-We're also open to other ideas on how to contribute. If you have an idea, feel free to contact us at me@crg.sh.
-This Code of Conduct applies to all wikis hosted by fanwikis.org and is attempting to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
-Wiki beaurocrats and admins are expected to enforce this Code of Conduct on their wiki. Additionally, they're expected to be respectful and welcoming to all users.
-Wikis hosted by fanwikis.org are supposed to fulfill the following conditions at all times as they're publically visible:
-When a user approached us with an idea for a wiki, they become the beaurocrat of said wiki if they wish to do so. If not, we will appoint a beaurocrat for the wiki.
-The beaurocrat is responsible for appointing admins for the wiki. They can do so however they wish, but we recommend to do so through a community vote.
-Beaurocrats are responsible for ensuring the wiki fulfills the conditions listed above and always has enough admins to enforce this Code of Conduct and keep the wiki running.
-When a beaurocrat is inactive for a long time (1 month), we will attempt to contact them. If they do not respond, we will appoint a new beaurocrat for the wiki.
-If you found content on one of our wikis that you believe violates your copyright, please contact us through the means listed in the legal notice of this website. We will then take action as soon as possible and as soon as we have verified the violation.
-All content on wikis hosted by fanwikis.org is licensed under various Creative Commons licenses. You can find the license of a wiki on the bottom of any page on the respective wiki.
-Our wikis are powered by MediaWiki, which is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2.0.
-Additionally, most of our own code is available under open source licenses on our Git Server. You can find the license of a project in the respective repository.
-This website is licensed under the MIT License.
-As a regular individual, you can request a wiki on fanwikis.org. We will then create a wiki for you and give you the rights to manage it.
-To do so, you need to contact us at me@crg.sh.
-When creating a wiki, there's two ways to proceed:
-If you want to create a wiki from scratch, the wiki starts of privated and you need to create a front page as well as the required templates and a few rough drafts for pages. Once the wiki is ready, we will make it public and release it in the incubator state. This means that the wiki is publically visible, but not in an ideal state yet. You can then continue to work on the wiki and can request it to leave the incubator state once you think it's ready. It's recommended to have more than 1 beaurocrat/admin for the wiki, but not required.
-If you already maintain a wiki somewhere else, such as on Fandom, you can request to move it to fanwikis.org. We will then create a wiki for you and import the content of your wiki. It'll then be private so you can make sure everything works and gets adjusted to e.g. a new theme. We can also assist you with this. - Once everything is ready, the wiki will be made public and may even skip the incubator stage depending on the state of the wiki. - Moving a wiki from another platform is only allowed when you are a beaurocrat/admin of said wiki.
-In general, we try to work closely with our wikis to make sure they have everything they need. If you need a special feature or theme, we can try to implement it for you. If you're a programmer, you can also contribute it yourself. Just let us know. We work closely with beaurocrats/admins as well as the community of wikis to make sure everyone is happy.
-Digital means of communication are preferred over traditional mail. Additionally, the visiting of the address below is not possible.

-fanwikis.org is a collective that hosts wikis. It's in the nature of wikis that they're editable by everyone. We have a code of conduct that wikis have to follow, but we can't guarantee that they do so at all times. It is impossible for us to check all content of all wikis at all times. If you find content that violates the law, please contact us through the contact information above. We will then take action as soon as possible and as soon as we have verified the violation.
